14TH DEEKSHANT SAMAROH

Prof. Prithvish Naag, Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidhya Peeth, Varanasi on the occasion of 14th DEEKSHANT SAMAROH held in Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra, Varanasi, articulated that Deeksha is completed by the students, but shiksha continues life long, because they are all kala sadhak, which does not have end in life. Rev. Dr. Raphy Manjaly, Bishop of Varanasi and Chairman of Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra, Varanasi congratulated the students and the staff and conveyed that Music and Dance are arts which combine three things in life, i.e. Bhasha, Kala and Dharma (Language, Art and Religion), for which Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra is one of the premiere institutes. Swami Chidanand, Director, Rajghat Education Centre Krishnamurthti Foundation India, Varanasi was the Chief Guest of the Samaroh. He spoke of the diligence and dedication required to be a sadhak, who also combines in him/her intelligence, spirituality and physique in his presentation. The Printania Awards were given to Dr. Sunita Bhale, Dr. T.V. Manikandan and Padmashri Dr. M.C. Nair for their excellence and contribution to the field of Hindustani Music, Karnatic Music and Bharatnatyam, respectively. A C.D. and D.V.D. on the patriotic and devotional songs and dances were released by Most Rev. Raphy Manjaly. The items of the day were Classical Bharatnatyam – Pushpanjali, Varnam, Kirtanam and Thillana – and Classical Piece – Dance Drama as well as Classical Hindustani Music. The function was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamps by the dignitaries invited and present on the occasion, welcomed by Sr. Cyrilla, Vice Principal, Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra, thanked by Miss Nisha Rawat, Student Leader, anchored by Prof. Ram Sudhar Singh in the presence of Most Rev. Isidore Fernandes, Bishop of Allahabad and Fr.Dr. Paul D’Souza, Director, Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra.
