At the invitation of Mrs. RinaDey, Secretary of CORE GROUP, Students of NavSadhana Kala Kendra participated in ULLAS celebration on March 28, 2014 at Gurgaon. The occasion of ULLAS was realization and certificate awarded to the members of CORE GROUP on March 27, 2014 as POLIO FREE INDIA. The CORE GRUP worked hard to eradicate the polio sickness in India. It was delighting to hear that India did not have report of polio cases to the hospitals in India since three years. Hence, WHO awarded to the CORE GROUP the POLIO FREE INDIA certificate as a mark of appreciation of the labourious efforts and relentless spirit, energy and endeavours for this noble cause. Mrs. Ellyn Ogden, General Director of Global Polio Project, stated that India made possible what appeared to be impossible; it has been wonder and miracle. ADRA (Adventist Development Relief Agency), CRS (Catholic Relief Services), PCI (Project Concerned International) and USAID (From American People) joined with the CORE GROUP undertook the polio eradication project. Congratulations to all of them.
Students of NavSadhana Kala Kendra presented three items: 1. Welcome Dance inviting the audience to rejoice on this auspicious occasion; 2. Hum HongeKamyam skit portraying differently disabled people need to have sympathy, sensitivity and compassion from the society and family rather than despising them; they require education to stand on their feet. They are not curse to the society or family; if they were cared and educated, they would become blessings to humanity; 3. Folk Dance conveying message of faith in God and humans to make a better society. The audiences were spell bound by seeing the performances of the student-artists: SandhyaTirkey, Alphonsa Robinson, PinkiPramod, PreetiMahimaAind, Princilla Peter Masih, SuchitaXalxo, Priyanka, Pratima Dominic Dhanwar, Sonia Stephen, Doris David, RachnaMasih and Shalini. Dr.Fr.V.Sebastian as Director and Guide to the Troupe, thanksFr.C.R.Justy and Sir VengadeshPrabhu for making the program successful and soul satisfying.
All of us joyfully went for sightseeing in Delhi after the programme, which ended with delicious dinner. We visited QutubMinar, India Gate and Sacred Heart Cathedral and the Archbishop’s House, Delhi, where we had high tea by the kindness of Most Rev. Anil J.T.Couto and Rev.Fr. P.J.Mathew. We expressed our gratitude for their warm welcome, hospitality and genial gesture.
