Mrs Swati Singh, Minister for Women Welfare in the Government of Uttar Pradesh, was the Chief Guest of Deekshant Samaroh – Arangetram held at Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra (NSKK), Post Graduate College of Music and Dance, Tarna, Varanasi on March 11, 2018. She congratulated the new graduates and exhorted them to practice what they have learnt every day to excel in the field of music and dance. She appreciated the hard work done by the management, the staff and the students to prepare these artists and also assured her support for the institution. Bishop Ignatius D’Souza, the bishop of Bareilly was the Guest of Honour, who appreciated the commitment and the discipline of the staff and the students, especially the Principal for his able guidance, and cordial fellowship and for creating a familial atmosphere for all who enter this campus. Most Rev. Eugene Joseph, Chairman of Nav Sadhana and Bishop of Varanasi, who presided over the function, lauded the Director and the staff of Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra for their efficient organization of the programme.  He congratulated the awardees and the new graduates and wished them God’s blessing for their bright future. He voiced that the standard of the dance and music performance has been constantly improving and thanked the teachers for their dedication and devotion to their work. Sir Robin A. and Dr.Govind verma prepared the students for their performance, which brought accolade for them; Mr.Rajesh Babu was the singer who sang melodiously and Mr.Sarada Prasan Das was the violin accompanist whereas Mr.Anang Gupta and Mr.Rakesh accompanied in Tabla and Harmonium respectively.

On this auspicious occasion the PRINTANIA AWARD, established by the donation of Mr. Albert D’Souza, Manager, Printania Press, Mumbai, was given to Dr. Premchand Hombal for his outstanding performance in Bharatnatyam, to Pandit Santhosh Kumar Misra for his contribution in the field of Sarangi and to Mrs. Nirmala Negi for her outstanding performance in the field of Kathak. Mrs. Swati Singh gave away the Printania Awards and the certificates to the new graduates, and Most Rev. Dr. Ignatius D’Souza gave away the certificates to the MERIT HOLDERS in Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh,

On this auspicious occasion three DVDs and one Audio CD produced under the guidance and direction of Rev.Fr. C. R. Justy and his team were released. At the end of the programme there was a dance drama, which portrayed the healing of Jairus Daughter. It was written and directed by Rev. Fr. Justy and choreographed by Ms. Roshma Ruba.  The day ended with the sumptuous dinner for all who witnessed the function.
