As every flower has a new flower in the same way every programme has a new beginning with a purpose. Therefore we had an Inauguration of the new academic year 2014-2015. The Inaugural functionwas on 19th July 2014. In this Inaugural function we had Most Rev.RaphyManjaly as our chief guest. We were indeed blessed with his presence.

The programme began with the lighting of the lamp followed by a small prayer service with a devotional song sung by the students of B.A IIIrd year and IInd year. Prof.Dr.B.P.Tiwari welcomed the chief guest. As the programme proceeded further, the dance students of B.A IIIrd year had presented a live classical performance of Tillana, directed by Sir Robin.

Addressing the college students Bishop RaphyManjaly said that the students must be aware  that like junk food is available, so also today  there is  junk music  available, which might not be suitable for music students i.e. lyrics and music of modern world are not up to the standard.  The purity of Indian classical dance and music must be preserved and promoted with respect and sung with devotion.

Our college Principal and the Director Rev.Dr.Fr.V.Sebatian was present in this function. His message was to use head, heart and hands in the field of art to be creative and to promote human, Gospel values in the society. He appreciated the students for their performance here in all the activities of the college and finally welcomed Fr.AntonySamy. A., new member of the staff.

An Inspiring song was presented by the vocal students of B.AIInd and IIIrd year which touched the hearts of people presented there.

On this auspicious day Dr. Ram Sudhar Singh gave encouraging message. He stated that he would admire and appreciate people who learn and make Indian Classical Dance and Music as their career, for in this modern world where people are running after MBA and Engineering, they would be considered mad. It made the students realize that their study is valuable to promote the Indian Classical Music and Dance.

Then, Smt.SukalpaMukerjee a Vocal classical singer, presented Rag Magmalhar and Tumribased on Savan. She, at the end, stated that NavSadhana Kala Kendra is the best in Varanasi City for Bharatnatyam and Hindustani Music.  She thanked and appreciated the Principal and the staff to keep it up the same spirit as it adds credit to the Holy City.

Finally with the vote of thanks the Inaugural function came to an end with the huge sound of applause.
