INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT THE CENTRAL JAIL

By the initiative of the Diocese of Varanasi, Independence programme was arranged in the Central Jail, Varanasi on Aug. 15, 2016 at 11.00 am. The various schools of the diocese participated in it. The students of Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra sang the patriotic song, which expressed the love and gratitude towards the soldiers, who do serve and defend the country selflessly. A patriotic dance was performed by the students under the guidance of Sir Robin and a folk dance was performed by the students under the guidance of Ms. Vineetha Vijayan. It enthralled the audience, who had accolade for their performance. The patriotic dance conveyed the message that India is a land of many languages, traditions, knowledge and sages. The Motherland holds all in her palm and protects all from heat and cold. Hence all need pay homage to the country India. The folk dance conveyed the message of wishing long and healthy life to the Motherland. Rev.Fr.Gaspar, the co-ordinator of the programme thanked the staff and students and distributed sweets to all. All returned to their home with delight and joy for making the day blissful for the prisoners.
