The 69th Republic Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy. The director/Principal of Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra presided over the Eucharistic Celebration during which he along with the students prayed for the nation. To mark the event, the Principal hoisted the tricolor flag at 08.30a.m. The National anthem was sung by the staff and students of the college. On this day all paid respect to the country and remembered all those who were instrumental in the making our constitution.
The cultural programme started off with a melodious song sung by the vocal students. Asathoma Satgamaya, a dance depicting the problems the youth face today was presented by the second year students. Patriotic songs were sung by the students, which evoked love and respect for the country. Ms. Priya and Ms. Jayanti highlighted the importance of Republic day in their English and Hindi speeches respectively. The classical dance by the third year students captured the attention of all. Principal in his speech praised those who scripted the contribution and emphasized the sacrifices made by Mahatma Gandhi and all the freedom fighters. He also reminded the importance of Gandhi’s principles of Non-violence and peace in today’s world. At the end sweets were distributed.
