The 68th Republic Day of our Country, India was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy in Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra, Post Graduate College of Music and Dance. It began with Eucharistic celebration offered by the Director with the students and prayed for the Nation. At 8.30 a.m. the tricolour national flag was hoisted infront of the Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra by the Principal Dr.Fr.V.Sebastian. The National anthem was sung by the staff and students of the college. A well prepared cultural programme enhanced the joy of all. The vocal students sang melodiously. A Vandemataram dance conveyed India’s greatness through nimble feet and hand movements. Patriotic dance and songs were recited by the students, which evoked love and devotion towards the country. The Principal in his speech emphasized the need of right thinking, sacrifice, commitment and seeking welfare of all citizens to lead the country to progress and prosperity like Mahatma Gandhi and the freedom fighters. Dr.Ramsudhar Singh exhorted the students naming a few Indian freedom fighters to lead a life of loyalty and fealty to the Nation in their life. The programme was anchored by Miss Serafina and Mr. Lav Kumar Gupta. Ms. Jenifer proposed the vote of thanks. At the end sweets were distributed on this auspicious day. The day was glorious as the sun shone brightly, dispelling the gloom and darkness, foretelling the bright future of India.
