Sangeet-Nritya Mahotsava is the inter-districts and inter-school competition on Music and Dance conducted by Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra, Post Graduate College of Music and Dance held on Oct. 15, 2015. In this competition thirteen schools from Varanasi, Ghazipur, Mau, Azamgarh, Mughalsarai districts participated enthusiastically. The inaugural session began sharp at 9.30 a.m. with the lighting of lamp and bhajan sung by the students of Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra in the presence of Mr. Om Prakash Chaubey, A.D.M. Protocol, Varanasi as the chief guest. In his speech he appreciated the sense of service and love of the missionaries, priests and nuns, as well as the dedication to promote the art and culture, music and dance impeded in the Indian culture. He extolled stating that Nav Sadhana is the  only college in the whole of North India run by Christians promoting the art and culture of India. He wished them well for the future endeavour. At the end of the speech he declared that the competition is open. The students of various schools participated in solo song and group song, solo dance and group dance. The taal vadya and swar vadya, i.e. instrumental competition was introduced. During the course of competition Shri Hari Pratap Shahi, city commissionor, visited the college to have a personal experience of the competition. He sat for an hour. Before his departure he delivered a message to all present; he stated that the innate and inherent talents and abilities are to be developed in the youngsters. The music and dance competitions provide an opportunity for the youths in this direction. He wished them all well. The concluding ceremony was held at 3.30 p.m., for which the chief guest was Mrs. Kumkum Malviya, Principal, Agrasen Kanya Post Graduate College College, Varanasi. In her speech she exhorted to educate boys and girls giving respect for both sexes. He encouraged to promote equality, fraternity, solidarity, compassion and love for all. She praised the endeavours of Nav Sadhana in this direction. She bestowed praises on the college for their dedication and discipline, preservation and promotion of art and culture. She gave away the prizes for the winners in the competitions. On this occasion Nav Sadhana dance students presented a prayer dance choreographed by Sir Vengadesh Prabhu and Classical Dance choreographed by Sir A.Robin. Dr. Fr.V.Sebastian expressed the vote of thanks to all present. Anchoring was done by Dr.Ram Sudhar Singh. All returned happily, as all the schools obtained prizes for one item or the other. However the championship shield would go to Sunbeam School, Bhagwanpur as they won the maximum prizes.
