“It was an enthralling performance and thrilling experience as well as a memorable eveningâ€, said Prof. Dr. Prithveesh Nag, Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi as the Chief Guest of Shiksha – Deekshant Samaroh – Arangetram held at Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra (NSKK), Post Graduate College of Music and Dance, Tarna, Varanasi on March 1, 2015. He further stated that the establishment of NSKK at Tarna brought remarkable change in the scenario of the place. It is befitting to start a music and dance college at Tarna, as Tarna is a musical name, as well as associated with world renowned Sitarist Pandit Ravi Shankar Prasad; Tarna has been a his karmabhumi as he learned to do survey as student and rose to the level of Surveyer General of India; He congratulated the new graduates and exhorted them to practice it every day to excel in the field of music and dance. Most Rev. Dr. Raphy Manjaly, Chairman of Nav Sadhana and Bishop of Allahabad, who presided over the function, commented the efficient and effective administration and organization of the Director and Staff of Nav Sadhana and Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra as the venue was shifted from the open ground to the Milan Hall due to the drizzles as well as maintaining high level energy to work like beehives holding meetings, workshops, seminars within the campus. He had the words of appreciation for the hard labour of Fr.Justy and the artists in the Nav Sadhana Communication Centre for the release of two DVDs. He congratulated the awardees and the new graduates and wished them God’s blessing for the bright future. He voiced that the standard of the dance and music performance has been constantly raised and thanked the Gurujan for their diligence, dedication and devotion to the institution and students. Sir Robin A. and Dr.B.P. Tiwari relentlessly prepared the students for their performance on this day, which brought accolade for them.
On this auspicious occasion the PRINTANIA AWARD, established by the donation of Mr. Albert D’Souza, Manager, Printania Press, Mumbai, was given to Mrs. N. Ogeswari for her outstanding performance in Bharatnatyam and other Classical Forms of Indian Dances, to Mrs. Vanamala Parvatkar for her excellent performance in Hindustani Music – Vocal and to Pandit Devashish Chakroborty for his contribtion in the field of Guitar. The award consisted of Shawl, Memento, Cash and Certificate. Msgr. Eugene Joseph, Administrator, Diocese of Varanasi, gave away the certificates to the students of Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra affiliated to the Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, C.G., who were merit/rank holders in the university:

At the end of the programme there was a skit with dance, which portrayed the Lord God rewards, the prayerful and sincere person in his life and redeems him/her from the evil design of the villains and criminals. The Lord God is the sustainer and supporter of the diligent and disciplined persons. The day ended with the sumptuous dinner for all who witnessed the function. At the inception all were welcomed by Dr.Fr.V.Sebastian, Director and Principal of the College and compeering was done by Dr.Ramsudhar Singh and vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Damini Mariam, leader of the college.
